Hayne Oak Flock making great strides in productive performance

2014 sees the results of using American imported semen from Fred Groverman on the Hayne Oak Flock come to fruition.

The Hayne Flock has been named runner up most improved flock by Signet for the second time since starting performance recording in 2007. This result has been achieved whilst increasing flock size by more than 80 breeding ewes over the past five years.

Key performance improvements have been seen in growth rate with flock average eight week weight and mature size performance in excess of that achieved by  the top 25% of all 20 Shropshire sheep recorded flocks  in the UK . Many Hayne Oak animals are now within the top 5% of the breed for overall index.
